ASB President Letter

Dear Sycamore Families, Teachers, and Staff,

I, Jordyn Benedict, believe people tend to support that which they help to create. With this belief I plan to create a school environment where each student’s ideas are encouraged and carried out to make Sycamore Canyon truly unique. I can’t wait to spend a wonderful year with all of you as your 2011-2012 ASB President.

I have been a proud Sycamore Canyon Coyote since Kindergarten. This school is a home to me. One of my main goals this year is to make sure everyone feels welcome on campus and feels like Sycamore Canyon is their home too. I am an experienced leader who always strives for the best in everything I do. This year, when I am doing my job as President, I will be thinking of each and everyone of you at Sycamore. I will value your input and find many ways for all of us to participate and feel included in our ASB events. My fellow officers and I are already on a great start to the upcoming year and we will continue to prosper along with the help, dedication, and leadership of the ASB class.

This year, not only is ASB going to run LTAs, Rallies, Dances, etc., but one of our main goals will be to encourage more school spirit. We will have so many opportunities for everyone to show their school spirit and create memories that you will cherish forever. Some include Spirit Night (Where we hope to regain the title of overall Spirit Night Champions!!!), Dances (Once a Trimester), LTAs (Every Friday), Spirit Days (Last Wed. of every month), Renaissance Rallies, (Once a Trimester), COTY Days (Every other Friday), and much more! This year will be quite an exciting year filled with lots of fun times to cherish during your years as a Sycamore Canyon coyote. Let’s go Sycamore!

Sincerely,
Jordyn Benedict

(I want to make this a side note) In everything we do in ASB, we plan to reach all of these goals:

  • In the first trimester, we want to establish a relationship with new and invisible students by spending time with them at lunch and throughout ASB activities
  • Maintain a positive ASB environment throughout the school year by providing discussion starters that are visual in the classroom
  • Improve COTY days and encourage participation by making it easier/more creative. I want to encourage outside ideas by setting up polls at lunch.
  • Make clearer morning announcements; make them exciting/clever to get students and teachers’ attention. We will keep a set of planned announcements and always think ahead. The same announcements will be updated daily to keep the listeners interested.

ASB Information
